Hey friends šŸ‘‹,

I'm down a rabbit hole this week on self-hosting and haven't had time to finish an essay. But, I told myself I wouldn't go two weeks without sending out a newsletter.

So, instead of my normal, regularly scheduled ramblings, here are three quotes I meditated on while on vacation last week:

"There's nothing to feel guilty about for being idle. It's not reckless. It's an investment. There is nourishment in pursuits that have no purpose—that is their purpose."
— Ryan Holiday
"All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone."
— Blaise Pascal
"The ability to be 'at leisure' is one of the basic powers of the human soul. Leisure is not the absence of activity, it is activity. What is absent is any external justification—you can't do leisure for pay, you can't do it to impress people."
 ā€” Josef Pieper
ā€œYou will always struggle with not feeling productive until you accept that your own joy can be something you produce. It is not the only thing you will make, nor should it be, but it is something valuable and beautiful.ā€
― Hank Green

Until next time,
